Chelsea and Jon!!

On March 6, Jon (Matt's brother) and Chelsea (Jon's fiance) arrived in Texas! Chelsea will be living with us over the next eight weeks while she student teaches at Salem in Tomball. We love having her around ... we can already tell it will be hard to say good-bye at the end of April! Jon chose a winner of a wife, in our humble opinion! We're blessed to have her as our (future) sister-in-law!

Jon was able to hang out with us for a few days since it was his spring break from college. Ian loved showing Jon around Bouncin' Bears! :)
Whee!
Ian was a lot more independent at Bouncin' Bears this time, compared to when we were there last (early January). Ian found it much easier to climb and even sort of jump.

Jon, Kim, and Ian also went to the zoo together. The fish exhibit was one of our favorite spots! Ian kept saying, "Look at all the fish!"

I love Ian's expression in the window. He was smacking his lips like a fish!

Jon and Ian look for birds in the tropical bird house.
We loved seeing the chimpanzee all curled up in a blanket.
Uncle Jon and Ian in a tent in the new African exhibit.
Ian loved swinging with Uncle Jon and Aunt Chelsea and thought Jon was especially funny (see video).

Ian still loves digging in the garden!

Uncle Jon and Ian watched some basketball on the computer.

While Matt was out of town at an administrator's conference in South Carolina, Chelsea, Kim, and Ian decided to do some touring around downtown Houston. Our first stop was Allen's Landing, where the Allen brothers (who founded Houston) first landed. It sounded fun in the tour book, but it turned out to be a run down, kind of scary park with nothing much exciting. So, we walked around some of the old buildings around the area, and we found some pretty ones!
Ian was also thrilled that we found some fountains.

Then, we went to Discovery Green, a really cool park across from the Convention Center. Chelsea and Kim enjoyed watching the free "street salsa" lessons while we ate our picnic lunch.
Ian enjoyed the slides,
tthe funny looking golf cart,
playing with Aunt Chelsea,
and playing the wind chimes.
While we climbing in the car to leave, we noticed a St. Patrick's Day parade beginning just a few blocks down. It was a blast! We loved watching the horses,
the DeLorian (sp?) cars from Back to the Future,
getting treats like lollipops and beads (Ian's favorite part!!),
watching the flags "wave" on the windshield wipers,
and the pretty floats.
Thanks for the fun day, Aunt Chelsea!
Ian loves his Aunt "Yes-see!"
