Here's Ian during one of his last nights in his crib.
Not the most comfortable-looking, huh? :)
Ever since deciding one day last week at nap time that he wanted to sleep in his big boy bed, he hasn't even asked about his crib. We're really thankful ... and also a little curious about what changed in his little 2-year-old mind. :) Now he has much more room to spread out!
On Sunday, it RAINED!! Ian got to wear his cute garage-sale rain coat for the first time ever. As usual, he loved stomping in the puddles and playing in the mud. But this time he was especially interested in watching the water RUSH into the storm drain. We had fun watching the water push leaves and pine needles into the storm drain, too. Ian really was curious about WHERE all of that water went! He's also really curious about where the water goes after he washes his hands or flushes the toilet.
On Thursday of last week, our new bedroom furniture arrived! We got a dresser/mirror,
two night stands,
a sleigh bed frame,
and a chest of drawers. Eventually, we'll want to repaint our walls so we can use our pretty blue quilt from our wedding again. And we're shopping for lamps for the nightstands, too. Soon, our room will be complete! We love the extra drawer-space and the look of the new furniture!
Ian continues to do well. His favorite activities still include reading, singing, playing outside (especially with sand or his Cozy Coupe), going to Sunday school, or playing with vehicles of any sort. He continues to love learning words. Now that he's developing a sense of humor, he loves to say words differently (by changing a vowel or adding a vowel, like "muffin-a" for muffin or "buhnahnah" for banana). He just laughs and laughs after he says one of his funny words. His favorite request during meal time is, "Ask me questions of my food." He wants us to ask him things like, "Are you eating (chicken)?," preferably using food items he does NOT have so that he can say, "NO!" Silly boy! He wants to do absolutely everything himself -- turn on the water, wash his hands, get into his booster seat, climb into the carseat, buckle himself, etc. -- even when we're in a really big hurry or he isn't actually capable of completing the task himself. Momma is learning to build MUCH more time in before planning to leave to go places. :) It's hard to believe he'll be two and a half soon!

Those photos of Ian crammed in his crib are so funny! Your new bedroom furniture is so pretty, and I love Ian's cow raincoat. Amelia has a frog one which is also a garage sale find; yeah for garage sales!
I have no idea how he sleeps that way! I'm glad he's started to sleep in his big boy bed. I was going to email you with a couple suggestions but before I did, I saw your blog post!
