Our Little Graduate

It was special to have so many family members present for Ian's special kindergarten celebration. We gathered at our house for Matt's yummy grilled hamburgers before heading to Trinity for the graduation.

Some family members even gave Ian some thoughtful gifts. Jaden and Cody made a "Good job, Ian" sign. Grammy gave Ian some stories about first grade, and Grandma & Grandpa gave Ian some balloons.

Ian wore a special t-shirt that listed all 60 kindergartners' names on the back.

The theme of the graduation ceremony was "Jesus Is Our Superhero." There were some pretty cute decorations and photo opportunities.

As a present to their students, the kindergarten teachers had made personalized memory books for each student, complete with work samples, photographs, and memories from the year. Ian's book was amazing and brought tears to Momma's eyes. It's amazing how much he grew -- socially, emotionally, and academically -- during the year. We are so thankful that Ian has the privilege of going to a Christian school and that he had Mrs. Brandenburg. What an amazing woman of faith and outstanding teacher!

Ian had quite a cheering section!

During the ceremony, each child's name was called as they received their certificates of completion.

Pastor John gave a neat message about Jesus being our superhero, and the kids sang quite a few songs.

The ceremony ended with a slideshow of pictures from the year.

One of Ian's last homework assignments of the year was to write his teacher a letter. I thought his letter was so precious!

During the last week of school, the kindergartners had a pool party. They were able swim in the pool or use the water slide ... for about 1.5 hours, until it started DOWNpouring and everyone had to go home. What a memory!

On the last day of school, the kindergartners joined with the "big school" for the awards ceremony. Ian received a special award for having perfect church attendance and also one for being an "Eagle Reader" (earning the highest level of Accelerated Reader points for kindergartners.)

We were so proud of our little kindergartner!
