It's officially fall!

Momma and Ian went back to the Woodlands Children's Museum last Friday with some friends, and this time we bought a membership! What a FUN place!

Ian has loved brooms for a long time, but we don't have any kid-sized ones at home. He was very excited to find this broom at the museum!

Ian loves the kitchen. At home, he often asks to stand on a chair near the counter where Momma or Daddy is working so he can be a part of the action -- watching, sampling, and "helping" where needed. At the museum, Ian whipped up an omelet and a side of beans ...
... a solitary blueberry muffin
... and then swept up after making some cous-cous.
The rubber mulch was still a big hit for Ian!
Eli and Micah teach Ian about the sea creatures in the water table.

Last museum visit, Ian wasn't interested at all in the toy trains. This visit, he spent a lot of time running the cars along the track and the table.

A future fireman??
"Next time, I'll find a stick THREE times my size to drag around," thinks Ian.

We enjoyed our lunch and play time at the park after the museum with Ms. Kristy, Micah, Eli, Ms. Kati, and Caleb. (YES ... everyone IS in this picture except for Kim!!)
But, don't worry, here she is ... modeling excellent Frisbee golf form! Look at that follow-through! (Matt & Kim had a fun date on Sunday afternoon going to play Folf and getting ice cream sundaes.)
Here, Matt beautifully demonstrates the technique for chucking the disc toward a blind target. (He actually landed the Frisbee VERY close to the basket!) For those of you who care, Kim ended up winning by 1 after she could subtract 15 throws from her score (their previously agreed upon handicap.)
While Momma and Daddy were off having fun, Ian had plenty of fun on his own. Ms. Kati showed Caleb and Ian how to "paint" their fence and sidewalk with water!

We've been loving the cooler weather! The past few mornings in Houston have been in the upper 50's or lower 60's. Ian and Momma still faithfully go out running at least three days a week. (And, yes, Ian often has a random object in his hand. This morning, it was a shoe that he's outgrown.) Kim thinks running in cooler weather is WONDERFUL!
After getting back from the run, Momma and Ian decided to enjoy the weather longer by planting their fall garden.
Ian enjoyed digging (while, yes, holding his shoe!)
Ian took a time out for munching on a ripe bell pepper that he picked from the existing garden plants.

He didn't really understand how to plant a seed but loved throwing the carrot, lettuce, beet, green bean, pea, and squash seeds onto the ground randomly.
But, of course, the BEST part was the watering part at the end! (Don't worry, grandparents, it was MUCH warmer than 60 degrees at this point!)

A few nights ago, we enjoyed the warm weather by having a picnic on our driveway. Gotta love October in Houston! (Anyone wanna come visit??? :))
