Happy birthday, Daddy!

Ian was more than happy to help Momma bake a cake for Daddy's birthday on Wednesday, Feb. 2!
He enjoyed sampling the frosting and putting the M&Ms on top, of course sampling some of those along the way, too.
Ian and Kim met Matt at Aviator's Grill for lunch. (Thanks for the great treat, Rory!) In addition to drinking from his own real straw, Ian enjoyed watching planes and golf carts come and go.
Can you spot the plane in the picture?? It almost got away! :)
After lunch, Ian terrorized the ducks for a little while before it got too cold. (Yes, Texas WAS actually in the 20's-30's most of the week last week! Matt even had a "snow day" on Friday. While it didn't snow ... at all ... to the disappointment of many ... it was a little icy! Matt heard that there were between 800-1,000 fender benders on Friday alone!! We were thrilled for the excuse to stay home together and enjoy an unexpected three-day weekend!)
Ian wanted to help open most of Matt's presents. (At Christmas time, Ian still didn't take much interest in unwrapping his own gifts. He's definitely moved beyond that stage!) For days afterward, Ian said, "Daddy presents!" Still, when we ask him what Daddy got in those presents, he proudly says, "BOXES!"

Ian helped Momma fix meatloaf, spaghetti squash, and fruit salad for Daddy's dinner. When he wasn't fascinated with the garlic press, he enjoyed singing while we worked.
Happy birthday to the greatest husband and father EVER! :)

"Happy birthday, dear Daddy ..."

YUM! Daddy's cake hit the spot!

On Thursday night, we continued Matt's birthday celebration. We enjoyed a yummy dinner at Texas Land and Cattle.

Afterwards, we went to Chuck E. Cheese to enjoy some games and rides as a family.
Ian tried his hand at skee ball,
while Kim decided to get a little closer to the target so she could beat Matt's score. (Is slam dunking allowed??)
Ian kept saying "moving, moving" as he rode rides like this one.

He didn't quite know what to think of the horse ride,

but hammering is always fun!
Ian got to meet a celebrity ... Chuck E. himself!
Matt and Kim most enjoyed the basketball game! What a fun birthday celebration! We thank God for you, Daddy!
