Downtown Children's Museum

We spent one of our Fun Family Fridays going to the downtown children's museum in Houston. We've been there twice before -- both on super jam packed Thursday night "free nights." One of the things that Ian really, really wanted to do this summer was to go back. This time, we decided that we would pay our way in and enjoy a less-crowded museum. We had a wonderful time!

Ryan spent a lot of time at this display where the balls rolled down a gigantic funnel. The only hard thing was keeping Ryan from chucking the balls at other kids at the display.

Ian pulled himself up to the top of this pole.

This was a really cool exhibit. Ian could create various circuits that powered lights, fans, etc.

Ryan did this exhibit about 30 times. He ran along this pathway and thought it was hilarious when he ran over a food item that created a "tooting" noise. That made him want to run along the pathway again ... and again ... and again.

The water displays outside were huge hits for both of our boys.

At this point, Ryan and I went up to the toddler play area while Ian and Matt explored some of the bigger-kid areas including Kidtropolis, where they earned money by participating in various jobs.

Ryan was very intrigued by the "gas station" and wanted to fill the truck up with gas multiple times.

We joined back up as a family and found this energy exhibit. By biking on the exercise bike and/or pushing the bar up and down, Ian could accumulate points for the "energy meter." Ian was determined to get as many points as he could -- thousands and thousands of them!

Ryan attempted to play a matching game.
It was fun to see our boys having so much fun. We're looking forward to going back to the children's museum again soon!

What a fun museum! It's funny to hear about the things that Ryan was interested in doing. So it's not just our boys that chuck balls or other objects at random other kids?? :)
