Fun Times in Jefferson City

We really enjoyed our time in Jefferson City. Ian received plenty of TLC during our stay. We loved staying at Aunt Jill (pictured) and Uncle Ross' farm just outside of Jeff City.
"Uncle Rick...it says here to flip the shutter around, knock on the brick 57 times, and sing a Bing Crosby song to your mom before attempting to attach anything to the house." Kim
Ian learned the art of making huge bubbles as he watched Great-Grandma Walquist.
The big red barn really came alive for Ian as Great-Grandma not only read the words but thoroughly described the pictures as well.
Ian loved every part of being at Central Dairy--a local creamery. Just moments before Daddy captured this picture, our fleet-footed ice cream lover had walked behind the counter and was deciding how to reach the scoops so he could help himself to more.
"Uh...Daddy...did you know we are surrounded by New York Walquists?!?" Ian
Ian enjoyed meeting Ross and Jill's chickens. We are pretty sure this was the rooster that started announcing the start of each new day around 6 AM--don't worry...we were up with Ian by 5:30 each day so our beauty sleep was not interrupted.
"I think these zebra-striped chickens are the nicest ones here." Ian
Ian loved watching the July 4th fireworks, and it was really special for all of us to see him sitting so contentedly on Great-Grandma's lap the entire time.

Ian paused just long enough to pose for this picture in front of the mongolian-style grill at a restaurant in Columbia. Just seconds earlier, he was boldly saying "ott, ott" [hot hot] as the steam rose from the grill.

As you can see in this video, Ian loved feeding the chickens with Aunt Jill's help.
