Each spring, we have tried to take a few pictures of Ian in the bluebonnets. It's practically a Texas tradition! We've learned a few things as the years have gone on. We started out taking pics along the side of the highway in huge bluebonnet fields. Within the past two years, a friend told us about a park nearby that plants a bluebonnet field in their grass. So, there were some things we expected (like Ryan trying to eat the bluebonnets and Ian not wanting to look at the camera about midway into the photo shoot). But, like every year, there was plenty of surprise and adventure! Let's just say it's at least twice as hard to get a good picture when you've got two kids. :)
This year, the stakes were a little higher as Kim was hosting a House Party featuring HP photo canvases. We wanted to get a picture of the boys together in the bluebonnets that would be worthy of printing on a canvas. After two separate photo sessions on two evenings near sunset, lots of props and giggle-inducing paraphernalia, and zillions of pictures, here's what we got. There weren't any pics of the boys together that we absolutely loved, but we did get some really cute individual shots that we got made into canvases. And, best of all, we had two evenings of family play time in the park after the picture-taking was done!

I LOVE the pictures! Ian sure knows how to pose and smile for a camera doesn't he? I noticed that when I took N2 to get their 4 year portraits. They smiled so nicely and stayed still for a few pictures!
It was so fun seeing your progression of pictures and not just the "final product." This makes us better able to imagine your whole experience... what fun! I just wanted to pick Ryan up in a few of those shots! :) You ended up with quite a few nice ones. Well done!
AWESOME!! Henry laughed out loud at the first one, with Ryan upside-down! He said "we should do that with Everett!"
