Trip Stop 2: Seward, Nebraska

We spent one afternoon in Seward. Kim and Matt wanted to stop by Concordia's campus. It was so fun to see all that has changed since Kim was a student there! Most impressive were the health and human performance center and campus center. WOW! Jon and Chelsea gave us a guided tour. Chelsea even provided piggyback rides. :)

While passing by the stadium, Ian said, "Look! There's that grumpy dog on Daddy's shirts!" as he pointed to the ferocious-looking bulldog mascot painted on the turf.
Uncle Jon taught Ian a little about weight lifting. :)
Then, we met up with family friends, Chuck and June. We talked, laughed, and read some stories together. June's friendliness and smiles always light up the room!
Chuck's wisdom and committed faith always inspire us! What an amazing couple!
Our final stop in Seward was to see Kim's college roommate, Amy, and her family! She and her husband, Kyle, have three adorable boys. After spending some time talking, we headed over to the playground across the street from their house. The boys had a blast playing together!
Ian and Micah (age 5) were fast friends!
The three big boys -- Ian, Micah, and Aaron (age 3).
Even the littlest ones got along -- Ryan with Nathan (9 months).
The boys cooled off with some lemonade before our yummy hamburger supper.
We attempted to get a picture of all five boys together!
Kim and Amy didn't stop talking the whole time we were together. (Thankfully our husbands get along really well, too!) We laughed about old times (like the cheesy pose we made in our freshman class picture -- imitated below) and had a wonderful time catching up. It's too bad we don't live closer so that we could see each other more often. But, it's awesome to have a friendship where you can just pick up where you left off.
Amy and Kyle, it was wonderful to see you! You are loving, caring parents and make a great team! The Lord shines boldly in your lives. Your three boys are just precious! Matt and I always enjoy our time with you!
