End of school year

It's hard to believe that Ian is all wrapped up with his first "official" year of school. He loved pre-K ... but is also pretty excited about having some "down time" at home this summer!

During the last few weeks of school, there were some fun activities. The students in the ECE put on a Spring Program for the parents. Ian had sung us bits and pieces of the 2 songs that his class sang, but the finished product was so adorable! All of the little girls were dressed up so cute!

Ian's class sang the song "Growing" first.

Then, they sang a song called "Superman," which all of the kids really got into.

The program concluded with some whole-group numbers including "This Little Light of Mine," "You are the Light of the World," "Get Up, Get Up," and "Go Now in Peace." Adorable! :)

The assistant room mom and I planned the end-of-year party. The kids decorated a foam picture frame craft from Oriental Trading Company, and we put a class picture in each frame. Then, the kids went outside (with the other three pre-K classes at Trinity) for a carnival of sorts. We had 10 different stations for the kids to rotate through at their leisure. The most popular stations were the face painting and popsicle ones!

The bowling game was also a big hit. (Thanks for the cute picture, Carrie!)

When we weren't supervising a game or watching other little siblings, Ryan and I spent some time on the swings while we watched big brother playing.

After the carnival, the class came inside for a yummy potluck-type meal with Chick-fil-A nuggets and Blue Bell ice cream!
One last whole-class picture ... what a wonderful class of kiddos! We feel so blessed that Ian was a part of this great group of children, all under the loving leadership of Mrs. Miller and Ms. Brenda!
A few weeks after preschool was done, Ian's soccer season wrapped up. It was so precious seeing coach Daddy giving Ian his award!

Since school has been out, Ian mainly just enjoys playing. But, he has occasionally asked Momma to make him a "math sheet" that he can complete, and sometimes Momma asks him to write some letters or read a simple story :). The teacher in me wants him to keep those skills sharp ... plus, he really likes it! :)

Those math sheets are pretty challenging for a pre-K grad! Way to go, Ian! I bet it's nice being done with your room mom duties. Would you consider signing up again next year?
