Ian can swim!

It was fun to watch Ian's progress in swimming lessons this year. It's the third summer that he has taken lessons from Ms. Amber, who we think is the best swimming teacher ever. :) Ian seemed to remember most of what he had learned in previous years, so he was already able to swim across the pool on the second or third day of classes (of six). He still needs to work on some things -- like using BOTH arms when paddling during the front crawl! He started trying to take breaths while swimming longer distances, but still needs some practice in this area. Overall, we were so proud of his willingness to do whatever Ms. Amber asked him to do and of the great gains he made this year in confidence and swimming skills.

At the beginning of lessons, Ms. Amber wouldn't make Ian swim very far away from the side of the pool.

Ian was happy to have his buddies, Caleb (pictured),  and Carson (below) in class with him.

The boys generally listened pretty intently to Ms. Amber while she was instructing them.
